I am the youngest of three children born to Brock and Faye Speer. Brock was the bass singer and manager of the gospel singing group, the Speer Family, and Faye sang alto.
From 1978 through 1982, I traveled with the Speer Family playing guitar and bass. In 1982, I left to get an education at Trevecca Nazarene University, and earned a double-major in accounting and business administration in 1986.
In 1989, I married the love of my life, Allison. Leaving Nashville in 2018, we moved to the country and built a house in Gravel Switch, KY, to be near Allison's family. We have a high-strung Schnauzer named Mazie.
